Report from Zone 5 Major Schierbaum:
Zone 5 officers responded to a report of a vehicle being broken into at 893 Peachtree St NE. Three individuals were detained for questioning. The subsequent investigation revealed the trio had in fact broken into a vehicle in the parking lot and the property taken from the car was recovered. The three members of the crew have been arrested a total of fifty-two (52) times and all have been arrested previously for breaking into vehicles. For the oldest of the three, this arrest will be his 6th for Entering Automobile.
This group is likely responsible for many more vehicle break-ins in Midtown. Entering Automobile crimes are the highest crime category in Midtown and across Zone 5. Entering Automobile arrests do not often receive a high priority from the court system. This group would be one the Court Watch representative for Midtown may wish to discuss with our Community Prosecutor.
