Midtown Neighbors’ Association’s VIBE Committee is making our community a nicer place to live. We are inclusive, proactive, and diligent as we work side-by-side in our commitment to clean-up and repair Midtown.  Our committee of dedicated resident volunteers promotes neighborhood pride through:

• encouraging regular street clean up;
• proper adherence to code for waste management;
• clean-up of vacant lots;
• management of sidewalk repairs for ADA compliance and safe passage;
• signage replacement and cleaning; and
• street lighting maintenance through the City of Atlanta and GA Power.

Spruce up your hardscape with authentic historic Atlanta hexagonal pavers!

During a recent large scale sidewalk improvement project with the City of Atlanta DOT, MNA volunteers harvested and saved hundreds of municipal pavers.  We owe a big thanks to all the neighborhood muscle that showed up, lifted, and hauled these beauties.  You guys are the best.

We reserved the pavers for Midtown neighbors that wanted to repair the hex paver sidewalk in front of their home.  The city would have simply trashed them (nooooo!!!!) Many took us up on the offer and improved their sidewalk frontage to be much more accessible.

Now, we are offering all of the remaining pavers for sale to anyone throughout Atlanta that has a private property project in need of these rare gems.

PAYMENT

$10 / paver.  Payment will be accepted at pick up location by a MNA VIBE Committee Member.  Cash or credit card.

RESERVATION

Click button below to reserve pavers.  No limit on the number of pavers available for purchase per person.

PICK-UP

Pick up on April 9th or 10th between 9 AM – 11 AM.  Purchaser is responsible for all loading and transport of pavers.

Location shared after reservation confirmed.

USE OF FUNDS

ALL proceeds go to Midtown improvement projects that enhance the maintenance, accessibility, and safety of our neighborhood.  You can participate in discussion about the allocation of these funds in VIBE and Gardens committee meetings.  Check out our calendar for details.

GRIND THE STUMPS!

We have abandoned, leftover tree stumps in the right-of-way throughout the Garden District.  The stumps are unsightly.  They accumulate trash, prevent replanting, and often continue to obstruct the sidewalk for years after the tree is gone.

When the City of Atlanta removes the tree, they offer for the remaining stump to be placed on a backlog waiting list for their team to grind.  The waitlist is currently 3-4 years and is actually currently inactive.  Leaving the stump stops another tree from being replanted, and in 3-4 years, something beautiful could be rooting and maturing.

We launched our first project-specific fundraising campaign to GRIND THE MIDTOWN STUMPS in 2021.  Thanks to neighbor generosity, we were able to grind over 30 stumps in our first round!  We will continue to collect donations and works on new and remaining stumps throughout the neighbors.  Please make a donation of any size to this effort.  Every dollar helps.

MNA contracts with a single company to grind as many stumps as we can afford.  The locations of stumps in need of grinding is actively cataloged.  Grinding is based on total funds available, pricing from competitive bids, and impact prioritization.
