Virtual via Zoom.
If the agenda is not yet updated, please check back. As a volunteer organization, we appreciate your patience.
During our committee meetings, now virtual Zoom webinars, you will join as an “attendee.” You will be able to listen to all discussion and presenters, see all shared materials and ask questions or share comment through chat. If time allows, and at the discretion of the Chairperson, attendee mics can be individually activated for questions.
Every participant in the meeting must register individually. The registration link is unique to each meeting. Please see the registration link above. After registration, Zoom will email you a unique link to join our webinar. You’re all set!
If you are a member of the media, we ask that you identify your organization during registration and introduce yourself via chat when you enter the webinar. Media inquiries should be sent to marketing@midtownatlanta.org.
Do you have questions about an application or the agenda? Do you want to share your support or concern about a particular application? You can reach our MNA License and Permit Committee Chairman anytime at licensepermits@midtownatlanta.org. We want to hear from you. We strongly encourage you to attend the meeting when the application will be heard.
This process involves multiple layers of community and city coordination. Our successful service is the result of good working relationships with our local business owners, event organizers, APD, City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office, and City Planning. We hope you will join us to observe the dedicated and knowledgeable service of the LPC Committee.
Are you planning a special event or are you applying for a liquor license in Midtown?
Please ensure your application is forwarded to the MNA LPC (licensepermits@midtownatlanta.org) from the Office of Planning, NPU Division, no later than the 15th of each month if your application must be heard at the following NPU-E meeting. Failure to supply your application by the deadline will result in being placed on the next month’s LPC agenda and a request for your NPU-E deferral. Contact us to confirm receipt.
If you are planning an assembly, large gathering, or festival, please use the following guidelines when designing your event.
The MNA License and Permit Committee (LPC) is part of the City of Atlanta’s Community Partners Review Process and provides recommendations to the City through NPU-E.
The LPC reviews between 150 and 200 festival, large gathering, and assembly applications each year. With the goal of improving the overall experience for residents and event goers, the committee works with organizers to address resident concerns and improve traffic and safety plans. After event review, we issue a position recommendation to the MNA Board of Directors and NPU-E. We write detailed condition reports and post-mortem notes for large events.
The LPC committee also reviews approximately 100 liquor license applications annually in Midtown and works with business owners to ensure that residential concerns are proactively addressed. We also act as an intermediary for businesses and residents when problems arise. We advocate for due cause hearings and speak on behalf of the Midtown Neighborhood at License Review Board hearings.
MNA LPC meets monthly and the committee is comprised of Midtown residents who are active and engaged members of MNA. This committee requires a significant time commitment from its volunteers and MNA thanks all of those who are serving for their dedication to Midtown and our neighbors.
MNA LPC meetings are open to all residents of Midtown. You may observe the meeting and provide comment and feedback on current applicants. If you have questions, please email us at licensepermits@midtownatlanta.org. If you are an active member of MNA and are interested in serving on the committee, we invite you to attend the next MNA LPC meeting and see our operations and allow us to discuss the commitment with you.
A: The NPU-E agenda will be posted to the MNA LPC site at least two (2) days before the MNA LPC meeting.
A: The LPC Chair and committee members receive the individual applications from the City throughout the month. The LPC Chair contacts each applicant to invite them to attend the LPC meeting. NPU-E releases a draft agenda listing all the applications for the month and that agenda is posted to the MNA LPC website at least two (2) days before the MNA LPC monthly meeting. The LPC Chair reviews the NPU-E draft agenda and identifies only the applications that are within the boundaries of Midtown.
A: The NPU-E draft agenda (posted on the MNA LPC website) links directly to each application. Click on the name of the applicant and a PDF of their application should populate in your browser.
A: You can either attend the LPC meeting during which the application you have interest in is being presented or you may write to licensepermits@midtownatlanta.org before the meeting.

A: Yes. Please make sure you contact the NPU-E Chairman and the MNA LPC Chairman to get on the agenda. The NPU-E is a representative board that welcomes your input, but due to the volume of each month’s agenda, most issues are discussed in the MNA LPC meetings and then brought by the MNA representative to the NPU-E meeting.
A: Per City Code of Ordinances, only festivals, gated/ticketed park events, and liquor license requests are required to come before the NPU-E. Assemblies and large gatherings are not required to come before the NPU-E / LPC. While not required, MNA LPC encourages assemblies and large gatherings to attend a MNA LPC meeting to vet their event with us and allow us to provide helpful feedback for a successful event. The MNA LPC has a long history of reviewing events and can offer standard operating procedures that will create a seamless and welcomed event in the future.
A: There are several codes that the applicant must follow.
Here are some of the more routine codes:
See CH.10 Alchoholic Beverages code in full.
Festival Applicants: CH 142 Outdoor Events
Noise Ordinance: CH 74 Noise Control
Full Liquor Code, which includes required parking for anyone applying for a liquor license can be found here: CH.10 Alcoholic Beverages full code.
PLEASE NOTE: Per Keyetta Holmes in Zoning, CH. 10’s code: parking requirements supercede those of the SPI districts building codes in Midtown.
The SPI’s are simply codes on what you can build. The building codes in Midtown’s SPI districts are these: SPI-16 and SPI-17 Piedmont Ave.
See CH.10 Alchoholic Beverages code in full.
A: You can call one of the agencies on the city’s list (https://midtownatlanta.org/city-services/), ie. Code Enforcement. For noise, underage drinking, public drunkenness, parking violations, please call 911 and report it. To inform the MNA LPC so that we can assist with the evaluation of compliance and mediate resolution, please be sure to copy licensepermits@midtownatlanta.org and your Atlanta City Councilmen.
