The MNA Land Use Committee (LUC) is part of the City of Atlanta’s Community Partners Review Process and provides recommendations to the City through the NPU-E. It reviews all building permits seeking variances, rezoning applications, Special Exceptions and Special Use Permits in the Midtown Neighborhood. The MNA Land Use Chairman represents Midtown residents on the Midtown Development Review Committee (DRC). The DRC reviews development projects in the Midtown Improvement District. Typically large scale projects, this review is a critical component to building thoughtful density.
We encourage applicants to come to a MNA LUC meeting for informational sessions early in the design process before submitting for a building permit. We are happy to provide assistance with process, design suggestions and feedback.
In addition, MNA encourages residents to take an interest in this process and attend MNA LUC meetings to observe the detailed professional review and collaborative spirit of our committee. Resident questions and feedback is encouraged during the meetings.
