Chik-fil-A, an Atlanta based restaurant company, is proposing a new location on the 0.959 acre site located on Ponce de Leon Avenue at the intersection of Monroe Drive and Ponce de Leon Avenue (689 Boulevard.)
PROPOSED CHIK-FIL-A RESTAURANT
STATUS: PENDING
OVERVIEW
PROCESS TO DATE
This parcel is located in Old Fourth Ward (NPU-M) and will therefore be placed on the NPU-M agenda for formal vote. Because the parcel is within 300 FT of Midtown’s boundary, the rezoning application will also appear on the NPU-E agenda for review and comment only.
MNA’s Land Use Committee reviewed this application on May 26, 2020 at our monthly meeting. We did not support the design at that time highlighting that it prioritized vehicle access and service without consideration for being in a dense, urban, walkable community. The applicant received similar feedback from NPU-M Land Use and agreed to revise site plan and return for future review.
On September 15, 2020, MNA Land Use will meet again with the development team to review the new plans.
Please check back for more detail on MNA’s recommendation on the revised plans and variance to NPU-E. In the interim, please click on the links below to review documents submitted by the applicant to the City of Atlanta Office of Planning.

ENGAGEMENT
We believe as residents of Midtown, we have a right to engage and comment on the development that shapes and affects our community. The City of Atlanta has a formal process by which developers are required to present and discuss their plans with residents in the NPU of their project and neighborhoods within 300 FT of the project site. MNA is the designated representative for Midtown to NPU-E. Our Land Use Committee is charged with reviewing all zoning, variance and special exception/use permits for NPU-E. The MNA LUC makes a recommendation to the MNA Board of Directors who then vote and submit the formal report to NPU-E. NPU-E discusses MNA’s recommendation and hears additional input from residents at their regularly held monthly meetings. NPU-E votes on their position or comment and the final report is submitted to the City for review during the zoning hearings.
As a resident who would like to make a comment or voice a concern, you have three options for this application:
