What does it mean to love our Midtown neighborhood?
“My wife and I love city living. We lived in Boston before our children were born and then moved out after they were born (for some reason that 675 sq ft third floor walk-up, large by Boston standards, wasn’t livable with small children😊). We became empty nesters around the time we moved from Boston to Atlanta and there was no question we were going to move back into the city. We found Midtown and immediately knew it was the right neighborhood for us. We not only enjoy being able to take advantage of everything the city has to offer (cultural events, sporting events, the park, etc.) but we love being able to walk to all of them. We also greatly appreciate how unique it is to be able to live in a neighborhood that is in the heart of the city and yet populated largely by single family houses.”
What unique qualities do you offer that will continue the positive growth and work of MNA?
“I am a quant by training (undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mathematics and Operations Research) and I have many years of experience as a consultant applying quantitative techniques to problems in industry. For the past 15 years I have been teaching quantitative techniques at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I currently teach at Emory’s Goizueta Business School. I can help MNA by applying data analytic techniques to some of the issues the neighborhood faces most critically in terms of safety.”
How are you a good Midtown neighbor today?
“I am a volunteer on the Safety Committee doing data analysis on the crime data available from APD. I am working on getting additional data to allow us to do more robust analysis. If elected to the board I would be the liaison to the Safety Committee. I also volunteered at the Safety Town Hall and have attended and participated in a wide variety of MNA events such as the National Night Out, Land Use Committee meetings, Halloween party, etc.”
